It was 2002 when “The Bachelor” first aired, and women (and, many cases, their male significant others) everywhere tuned in to watch two dozen women try to win the heart of homecoming king and Harvard grad Alex Michel. It was the pre-Tinder era, when the possibility of finding the ideal man wasn’t just a swipe away. But now, 14 years later, we have a new herd of prom-ready women fighting to capture the attention of a run-of-the-mill Tinderfella. So why are we still watching?
